L’appartement de Fête
It wasn't a stage set or a gallery; it was a backdrop for celebration. L’appartement de Fête started as a pristine white box, but not just any white—Stefan's favorite, Benjamin Moore's China White, a delicate off-white. The first iteration aimed for calm, with each piece in the collection standing out, upholstered in white to create a gallery-like vibe. But over the years, this serene gallery transformed into a riot of color and texture, morphing into what friends affectionately dubbed "the party pad."
A 2019 painting by Stefan, inspired by a trip to Uruguay, set the tone for the latest iteration of L’appartement de Fête, capturing the mode du jour: Pink!
An Yves Klein coffee table anchors the living room, while a custom olive green dyed silk velvet from Sabina Fay Braxton contrasts beautifully with the all-white space.
"There’s an abundance of seating—over 40 chairs to be exact! Designed with socializing in mind, this space invites you to settle in for a cozy tête-à-tête, enjoy a stylish cocktail, or indulge in a spirited game of backgammon. —- That’s exactly what I envisioned—a stage for friends, for myself, and for everything in between!”
A constant amid change, a portrait of Juliette Récamier—affectionately known as 'Madame'—always oversees the festivities, regardless of the living room’s color scheme.
A space perfect for charades and cherished moments with friends.
A creative haven designed to inspire not just friends and family but also fellow creative colleagues. The 'Appartement de Fête' has been featured in several editorials, including this one by Devore Vintage, photographed by Ashley Kickliter.
